Alila Villas Uluwatu Eco luxury hotels
We are really excited to visit all the Alila locations. Alila seems to have really great command of what it takes to do luxury the right way. Not only do they offer a rich sense of luxury, design, and care, they do so with sustainability in mind.
Currently, Alila properties has 9 locations (mostly in Bali), but are expanding. Most recent opening is Bangalore, India, which is where I’ll be heading for a business trip in the not too distance future. And if I can get my wife to agree to come along, then we definitely be checking in at the Alila Bangalore.
Just about a month ago we stayed at Alila Villas Uluwatu, in Bali. In a previous post I had told you about our stay the wonderful Alila Villas Soori, and so we excited to try their sister location and we were expecting the same level of luxury.
As was our experience at Soori, the staff here too greeted us by our names throughout the resort. Having checked with us ahead of time, they made of point of serving to our likes and dislikes. The staff did a wonderful job at not making us feel like we were “staying” there. The focus of the staff was on taking care of us, which left us feeling like “staying” there was just the delightful icing on the cake; almost incidental. The amazing skill and gracefulness of the staff was in no small part due to the excellent training and example set by managing director Sean Brennan, who at time seemed more like a hospitality magician.

Uluwatu is only 30 minutes from the airport. Although this really depends on traffic, and the unfortunately we were not so lucky this time. Some minor accident (luckily with no injuries) held us up for longer the expected.
But, it was completely worth the hassle when we arrived to find the stunning views of cliff-top balconies, overlooking the ocean. As was the case with Soori, here too beautifully designed villas with their own pool and decking gave you the feeling of un-encumber beauty of nature integrated with design.

As you can see from these pictures, what Alila offers is not just luxury, but the opportunity to disappear out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary. It’s not just the mere look of the place, it’s the attention to detail toward how people will feel extraordinary by the simplest things. For example we just loved the indoor and outdoor showers. How often do you have something like that?
